In the galaxy, Darth Vader was considered among the most tragic figures. He was born as Anakin Skywalker and was initially very optimistic and gifted. When he was born, he was considered the Chosen One according to a prophecy, entrusted with the expectation of renewing the Force with a balance. During his early years, Anakin demonstrated definitive potential and widely lauded passion, while struggling with various personal demons. Obi-Wan Kenobi trained Anakin, who fought on the front lines during the Clone Wars. During this period, he found himself bewitched by Padmé Amidala and they entered a secret marriage since it was considered against Jedi code.
Since Anakin was afraid of losing those he loved and he was navigating his disillusionment with the Jedi order, he was extremely vulnerable. Chancellor Palpatine leverages his state to manipulate him and it is later revealed that the former was Darth Sidious. When Anakin was promised the abilities and skills to ensure the safety of Padmé, he gave in and joined the dark side. This led to the birth of Darth Vader, who worked towards exterminating the Jedi Order and was almost successful.
When he became Lord Vader, he was entrusted with the responsibility of enforcing Sidious’s plans. Thus, he would hunt down and execute Jedi, as he continued to impose the ideals of the Empire everywhere. However, Anakin was not entirely dead. His love for his son Luke Skywalker, coupled with his hope led to his redemption in the end, when he sacrificed himself to save Luke and in the process, destroyed the Empire. Thus, he managed to fulfill his fate as determined by the prophecy that declared him to be the Chosen One.
