In the galaxy’s history, Yoda is among one of the most respected Jedi Masters, renowned for his enigma. In addition to being an ancient figure, Yoda was also extremely mysterious and was from a species that was not yet identified. In fact, Yoda was alive for around 900 years and thus attained a substantial amount of knowledge. For many centuries, he was a part of the Jedi Council and despite his small stature, his presence always made a mark. During the High Republic’s days, he even went on to become a Grand Master. When Yoda served as the Grand Master, he was instrumental in the decision-making process.

Throughout the history of the Republic, several Jedi were trained under Yoda, including Mace Windu and Count Dooku. The Force’s subtle nuances coupled with patience and humility were qualities that were emphasized by him. Upon the initiation of the Clone Wars, Master Yoda fought from the front line and led troops during their attacks on the battlefield. However, it is interesting to point out that although Yoda was extremely foresighted, he did not realize that Chancellor Palpatine was none other than Darth Sidious – the Sith Lord who initiated the Clone Wars. By regulating and manipulating the conflict from both sides, Darth Sidious managed to cause the downfall of the Jedi Order by implementing Order 66. During widespread executions, Master Yoda was among the few Jedi who managed to survive.

When the Empire rose, Yoda moved to Dagobah, a swamp planet, to seek refuge. This is where he remained safe from the dark side’s troops and essentially lived a solitary life until he encountered young Luke Skywalker. He began to impart various teachings when mentoring Luke. These played a crucial role in the latter’s fight against the Sith Empire and Darth Vader.

Yoda eventually joined Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi by attaining spiritual immortality and becoming a Force Ghost upon his demise. In this manner, even after his death, Yoda continued to fight for the Force’s light side.
