A prominent Jedi Master of his time, Mace Windu was of Korun descent and was especially renowned for two reasons – his incredible lightsaber skills as well as his comprehensive understanding of the Force on a philosophical level. Windu’s purple lightsaber set him apart from the rest and was the perfect representation of his proficiency and the amalgamation of various forms of combat. Moreover, he served as the Deputy Grand Master of the Jedi High Council with Master Yoda and during several historically crucial moments, various actions of the Order were influenced by his decisions.

As threats began to emerge during the final years of the Galactic Republic, one cannot overlook the role undertaken by Mace Windu in addressing and countering them. The Battle of Geonosis, which marked the Clone Wars, benefitted from his leadership. His commandeering of the Republic forces when engaging with the Separatists and Count Dooku – his former friend, was widely recognized and applauded. In particular, Master Windu’s ability to perceive various vulnerabilities and turning points across different individuals and scenarios was referred to as Shatterpoint and made him extremely renowned.

The expansion power and intentions guiding Chancellor Palpatine were cautiously recognized by Windu as the Clone Wars began to inch toward its tragic end. Gradually, the true identity of Palpatine was revealed by Anakin Skywalker as Darth Sidious, who was the Sith Lord that they were pursuing, thereby confirming his suspicions. A fateful confrontation occurred when Windu tried to arrest the Sith Lord, which led to his demise, while also causing the Galactic Empire’s rise by accelerating the transformation of Anakin into Darth Vader.
